Does this sound too much like a personal essay?

<p>The Johns Hopkins supplement essay prompt is as follows:</p>

<p>Johns Hopkins offers 50 majors across the schools of Arts and Sciences and Engineering. On this supplement, we ask you to identify one or two that you might like to pursue here. Why did you choose the way you did? If you are undecided, why didn't you choose? (If any past courses or academic experiences influenced your decision, you may include them in your essay.)</p>

<p>I feel like I wrote a second personal essay. Can someone give some opinions on this?</p>

<p>Colleges are interested in learning about you – your interests, your aspirations, your background, your character, so it’s appropriate to answer every college app essay prompt in a personal way. Most people don’t realize this, so make the mistake of answering in an impersonal, formulaic way.</p>
