Last week, I asked my english teacher something about his school agenda thingy and what to bring etc and if we really needed this one item, which would take up too much space in my backpack, and considering it would help my back since I have a bad back.

He didn't answer my question and then, randomly, said "Are you in this certain program?"

IDK about other schools, but at my school, the program is for those who aren't as good in schoolwork and need extra help. I am not making fun of them, but I'm not sure if my teacher was calling me dumb by saying this.

I asked him "what did you mean by this?" and he said something else, blah blah. I didn't quite understand it.

But anyway, what do you guys think? I know there isn't that much to go by, but idk what to make of this...

Uh, the teacher barely knows any of his students and still uses roll call, etc. I don’t think he has enough info to classify what program I should belong to =/ lol

maybe the answer to your question about needing that item pertains to whether you are in that program? he barely knows you, so he probably doesn’t think you’re an idiot… he might have kept changing his answer because he didn’t want to seem offensive. idk… it depends on what he said

My thoughts as well. You either did not communicate well and he believes you may need help, or you do not understand him to begin with and you yourself would benefit from help.

You did ask a simple questions, but failed to provide simple information…

This doesn’t help much if at all, especially the name calling.

coolman, don’t lose your cool. Name calling’s not cool. But as for the teacher: fuggedaboudit. Your teacher probably already has. It’s the start of the schools year, your teacher can’t know much about you. If you show through your work and class participation that you are in fact intelligent, than it won’t matter, he’ll know you for who you are.

you’re so sensitive. if you couldn’t understand what he was saying after he asked you if you were in the program then to me it seems you didn’t understand him before it.

maybe he was asking that for clarification; maybe people in that program need the item you requested be optional to carry around. or maybe he just wanted to find out who was in the program or not in his class and just chose the wrong time to ask. in either case, it isn’t your place to go so far as to put this on a thread suggesting that HE might be offending YOU. if he saw this, he himself would feel more offended than you “feel” right now.

Ok, let me explain it one more time…I apologize if it wasn’t clear the first time.

I could care less about this really, but I just want to know what he thinks. This happened last week on the first day of school, and sure I could care less really, but I just wanted to know what you guys think.

This is the scenario: I asked my english teacher about his school agenda thingy and whether we really need this certain item. He then asked his question, and then when I asked “why?”, he said “well, whatever, you still need this item.” That was it. I said ok, thank you, all that stuff.

Anywway, could the mods remove this? I don’t mean to offend my english teacher. I’m not dissing him or anything, I’m just curious because I don’t want him to have a bad impression of me for the rest of the school year.

You’ve already made a poor impression on him. Why do you think he would care if carrying his “item” hurts your back? You disrespected him. Its your back problem not his.

It was a pack of 500 notecards. It might seem small, but it can get really heavy sometimes. I don’t have a problem with it, but he wants us to take it everyday. I know everyone else has to do it, but I asked if maybe, we could only bring it on the days he wants it. But he said no and that he wants it everyday.

PLUS there is no space in my backpack for it, since every single class of mine has a textboox that is like 600-1000 pages. And please don’t say “uyse the lockers”. I do, but each class requires a heavyass book and even more stuff.

And yeah, thanks batllo…and pple like you give me the impression that CC is full of people who are insensitive. I just asked a simple question.

Nevermind everyone, I just read about the program and its actually very good. So forget about this thread. I made a mistake. If anyone comments, I am not going to reply.

You shouldn’t put out personal information about yourself if you can’t stand up to the scrutiny. Why set yourself up for ridicule? You asked us to give our opinion and based on the information you divulged. IMHO, you acted immature and probably caused your teacher to roll his eyes at your question. I didn’t say you were annoying, I said your question to him was annoying.
