I'm a foreign student who has been in UK for 2/3 years. I just found SAT CR really difficult, mayb due to cultural backgroud. I got 770 in maths, 700 in writing but only 590 in CR. But I got 29 out of 30 in Toefl reading. It seems that 600CR is a boundary mark for foreign students. Can my Toefl explain to colleges that Im actually capable of most academic readings??

If English is not you native language, the TOEFL results will be more significant to the colleges than the SAT. If English is your native tongue, I'm not sure. Some of the new TOEFL items are quite challenging.

oh.. my native language is Chinese for sure. I only got intensive training in English after I came to England for school

toefl is no means helps your application. its just a minimum requirement from universities to ensure that you understand the language.
i got 29/30 in reading toefl
and 640/800 in CR.
toefl is too easy when compared to the SAT.
heck i didn't even study much for toefl, and still got 110/120.
