Does transferring schools twice affect med school chances?

I've just completed my first year of college, and I was planning on transferring to a small nearby private school for a year. After that, I wanted to transfer to UNC Chapel Hill (So junior year transfer there) and then I would stay there for the rest of undergrad. I asked the Doctor that I've been shadowing his thoughts on this, and he said that he didn't think it was a great idea.
I don't know if he knows that from experience or if it's just his personal opinion.
Can someone help me out? Should I transfer to the smaller private school at all? They are offering me a $12k scholarship and that brings the cost of everything down to the same as what I'm paying now.
Please, I really need some help right now.

not a good idea

I see zero reason to transfer at all let alone twice.

There is data complied by AAMC that suggests that having 3 or more transcripts is associated with:

lower MCAT scores

lowered chance of gaining a medical school acceptance

higher risk of not completing medical school if you do matriculate

~~~~
Also as a junior year transfer, you will be at a disadvantage in getting strong letters of recommendation from your professors. LORS are a critical in gaining a med school admission.
The school I go to now is not very good, their science departments are absolutely awful. That’s why I want to switch. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do?
Is there a reason you can’t transfer to UNC straight from where you are? Otherwise, maybe you could just transfer to the small school and stay there the rest of your undergraduate career.
This doesn’t look good for a number of reasons:
*Doesn’t look like you planned it very well. If money is an issue, you should have anticipated some of that. *If your school has a weak science, well, you didn’t reasearch it very well. *And if you’re thinking you’d like to transfer to UNC but you can’t do it over the summer, well, you didn’t schedule your timing very well. *Who’s to say you won’t totally dislike the small private nearby school anyway? Ugh!
If you’re serious about medical school, you better show long-term commitment towards that goal. It’s not like you can bounce around in med school. What you should be doing instead is studying, researching, and volunteering.
will let you know how it goes for me…
CC – 1st yr ----> transferred
large state school 2nd yr (4.0 in my phys, chem, bio 1&2 core + orgo1) —>
transferring again due to my scholarship fund via military reserves in state being bankrupt…have put in 200+ hrs in the ER, 1 pub in public health journal, 9 months in a marine bio lab
3rd yr(this yr) will be at a top 10 school…either I gamed the system w/my 4.0 sGPA or it’ll bite me in the backside…either way I have my reasons for the x2 transfer.
if it’s best for you then go for it! imagine if your reasons for moving twice are reasonable it won’t make any difference…also imagine your odds for getting into UNC-CH SOM will go up if you can pull good grades your jr yr there. If you are starting at a CC then I think it’s reasonable…if not then probably should stay where you are this yr and just make one move to UNC next spring if they have that or next fall
