Does Tufts send likely letters, email, etc?

I am very anxious right now; I don't think I could wait another 2 1/2 weeks :(

i got am email from them last year ... i found out online first.

yeah they do...I got one a while back.

yeah i just got in to tufts today

Really? Congratulations! How did you find out?

Aaaah, this makes me more nervous!

lol i was nominated as a balfour chenault scholar

if i get it, financial aid gets turned into a scholarship grant

and they are flying me out to have dinner with president Bacow

Congratulations!

Did you get the invite by e-mail or snail-mail? Also, if you got it by snail-mail, where do you live? I'm on the West Coast...so everything takes longer to get here.

yeah lewisloftus, i live like 15 minutes away from tufts, yet the letter was postmarked march 9

so if u got one it could take a little while

Congrats!

Are you guys athletes or other types of recruited students?

for tufts... I don't think you have to be an athlete or recruited student....I am an athlete but nothing of big significance or anything (I play soccer for my school).... However, I have other things on my application that may have helped?

sat scores? maybe... idk lol I don't really want to go to tufts though

Congratulations dayo! You got one of the coveted "private" scholarships!

haha yah i got into today too and got that scholarship thing! so dayo i guess ill be meeting you on the 30th! i love suprises.

um i think its just good applicants over all. i play vasrity basketball and track but i didnt apply as an athlete and my SAT scores were not THAT good. um yeah.

excited. the college hell i have been living in for the past year and a half is finally icing over. yay

congrats jenny! where do you live and are you going? I live in a suburb about 15 minutes away from Tufts..i think they had it on the 30th 2 so we can't check other colleges decisions lol

Can you guys explain more about the "scholarships" you got? I thought Tufts didn't give merit aid? Thanks and congratulations to you.

when is Tufts RD coming out?

I am creepy nervous!!!! OMG. I creepily don't want to face the Last Judgement Day.

I am quite nervous as well. I applied early and got deferred. =( Tufts still remains my number one though. =)

*cross your fingers, guys.

haha dayo yah thats i was thinking. F that, im bringing my laptop to check hahah. i have some big schools im finding out about then and i have been waiting for a LONG time.

apparently tufts does give merit aid becuase dayo and i were nominated. um idk what more i can say about it. they liked us they said we were outstanding applicant or something.

and i live in upstate NY, about 3 hours from boston.

jennyx06, The website says "no merit aid" so I 'm trying to figure out if these scholarships that you are talking about, although based on great academics, is because you also showed financial need, and applied for financial aid. Thanks.

perhaps. reading back on my post it sounded kinda snobbby. i didnt intend for it to be like that if u interpreted it like that. yeah on my app i checked financial aid .

the letter basically says:
you have been nominated as a Balfour-Chenault scholar, which recognizes outstanding applicants of african descent who demonstrate exceptional academic and personal qualities. the scholarship grant will replace the student loan portion of your Financial aid package.
