Or do they only look at the best you did in one sitting?

If I had to guess, I would say no. But I’m not sure.
Email your admissions counselor at UofC, they’ll know for sure, whereas on CC everyone is a secondary source.

For some reason I feel like I remember them only looking at the math and CR sections. If it helps you at all. Also, I think they do superscore the SAT, but not the ACT.

They did super score the ACT, but I do not know if they do so currently.

When we visited Chicago in April 2009, I’m almost certain that the admissions officer who spoke at the info session said that they do superscore.

What they do isn’t officially super-scoring the way MIT does it, like only taking the best subjects and combining those into a new composite. They do, however, take all tests you send them into consideration. This means that my 32 and 33, while not actually turned into a 35, have kinda been turned into a 35, if that makes any sense.

Ealoque, I’m sure that you’re right, and I misspoke. My recollection is that the Chicago admissions officer said that they look at the highest subscore in each category, even if those were achieved on different test dates, but that they don’t calculate a new composite score.

i asked my regional counselor a few weeks ago and she said that they do in fact superscore the act.

Well, either way (superscoring or quasisuperscoring), I got a 35 as opposed to a 33, which makes me a very happy person.

@Ea

How do u know ur score was looked at as a “35”?

You take your best scores for each subject and average them out.
