Does U of Washington give good financial aid?

I’m considering applying but the out of state CoA is pretty high. I have family that lives ~20 minutes from the campus so living with them instead of on campus might be an option

Not for OOS residents. They are expensive.

It is about $45k for tuition, room and board (not “expensive” compared to most top private universities or the OOS price of other top public universities, such as the UCs). You would save a lot by living with your family, and if you are a strong applicant, you would be eligible to receive a Purple and Gold merit scholarship of up to $7,500 per year for four years. I am not aware of any need-based grants for OOS students, but depending on your situation, student and parent loans may be available to cover the rest of the cost.

Good luck with your college applications.
