<p>well if they did 100-95 = A then i don't think i would have had a single A on my hs transcript. so probably not.</p>
<p>I would doubt they recalculate HS GPA unless the scale is really biased. If they do, then it would be 100-90 A.</p>
<p>My HS doesn't give the exact grades so I think it would be impossible for them to recalculate grades in the way you think. Maybe seeing what your unweighed GPA is would be a possibility... But probably not.</p>

<p>Long answer: We look at the high school profile (your school sends it with your transcript) to see how your grading system and GPA calculation works to help interpret your transcript.</p>
<p>Grade distribution charts are also very interesting. I remember seeing a school where getting well over 100 as an average was common (we're talking 110-115 average on the distribution chart). </p>
<p>Of course, as hazelorb mentioned, there are plenty of schools on a completely different scale...even some that don't have grades at all.</p>
