Does UA's bookstore have low priced MS Office 2010 for students?

My son has been looking through his textbooks and supplies and saw that there are files he’ll need Office 2010 to open. I know that UAB’s bookstore (at least a few years ago) offered Office for about $8 to students. Does UA do the same thing?

I thought I’d ask here, because if it doesn’t then of course we’ll go ahead and get the student discount from Microsoft (which will make the Office about $100).

Office for $8?

I would call the Supe store and ask.

Then also call UAB…if cheaper there, get it there.

Thanks - I can’t get it at UAB because they actually want to know which student, and keep a record that that particular student has claimed their copy…because it is so ridiculously cheap. We did it before because my oldest son was a freshman there at the time - so it was for him. It may not even be done at UAB anymore, was just something I was aware of at the time. Thanks.

Seems like a discount exists for FACULTY, but not students. See link…

Sounds like UAB did some kind of huge purchase like my H’s company does which allows a certain number of licensed copies to be distributed to employees.

Yes, that was most likely it. Thanks everyone - I’d just wanted to check. We went ahead and bought him Office from Microsoft’s online store last night.
