I'm a Senior in high school and planning to go to a community college and eventually transfer after 2 years to a UC, hopefully Davis. I had 2 Ds throughout my high school years and I've been wondering if this might affect my admission to a UC if they need to look at my hs transcript.

any UCD transfers had this similar problem ?

No, your high schools are in the past. They will only look at your CC grades.

They only look at it if you’re using high school foreign languages to fulfill you foreign language requirement. The grades do not matter though unless those Ds are from your foreign language classes.

^^ also i think government/econ fulfills uc requirements, correct?

No. You’ll have to send in your transcripts but they won’t care about the grades.

like the previous posters mentioned—i would not worry about your high school grades if you are going to attend a CC and then transfer. i know it is much harder to get into UC schools than it used to be, but i literally have five friends who went to CAL after dropping out of high school altogether–and getting their GED’s. get good grades at the CC and you will do great. good luck. and don’t forget to check assist.org and plan your two years carefully so you will qualify perfectly for the departments you want to apply to. and complete the UC IGETC, not the CSU IGETC. you will do so well since you are already reading the posts on here.

and i don’t mean to be negative, but don’t rely on the counselors at the CC to give you good information. be sure to do your own research and contact the UC departments you are interested in to double check on things you have questions about. they are always helpful.
