Does UCB favor certain Languages

I want to apply to Berkeley when im a senior then later to Haas.

Does Berkeley look at certain languages more then others like do they prefer someone who speaks arabic or italian as opposed to spanish? or do they not care?

If they do... what language do they favor?

and does ucb look at High school ranks?

languages? i doubt it…
high school ranks? yea. possible.

-class rank matters, high school national (or state) rank is likely of not of great importance.
-speaking Italian or Arabic doesn’t matter
-EC’s are somewhere in between all that mess

oh and they tend to care about grades too…:);)

Take whatever language you want to. The UC does not care, just make sure you have the equivalent of 3-4 years of HS language

class rank and high school rank matters.

This is why 50-60 people came from my high school. So even when I wasn’t ranked top 10% of my school, I still got in just because they probably accepted top 20% of my school.

On the other hand, many other schools only have 1-5 people getting in with about the same class size. Usually for these schools you have to be valedictorian or close.

So high school rank does matter.
