My parents make $55,000 a year combined...
If any current students are in a similar situation could you please tell me what financial aid UChicago is providing?

<p>UChi has the Odyssey Scholarship, where if your family makes under 60K, they replace all your loans w/ grants.

<p>There isn’t a separate application for it. As long as you apply for financial aid, if you qualify for the scholarship, you get it. I don’t really get why they call it a scholarship, because I’m pretty sure it works more like a grant, but hey, free money is free money, and they can call it whatever they want, as far as I’m concerned.</p>

<p>Your parents may say they aren’t contributing anything towards the costs of college, but you can be sure every school to which you apply will nevertheless calculate an expected parental contribution. If your folks won’t pay it, that falls on your shoulders – in addition to the expected contribution the school calculates as your share.</p>
