I got decent FA from UofC. So I'll put my question forward bluntly: does the FA stay the same (or about the same) for all four years? Or should I expect it to decline as I move from a freshman to a sophomore to a junior to a senior?

It stays put IF your parents’ income doesn’t change. Mild fluctuations won’t do it much harm either. However, I think dorm prices increase slightly as you move from being a first-year to being an upperclassman.

Other things may affect it, too, like siblings entering or graduating from college, or changes in the value of investment assets.

My sister’s graduating college next year. Faaaaail.

Thanks for the responses. The reason I asked was my older brother will be entering med school in a year and I was afraid of a fluctuating FA offer.

Also, along the same lines–I am applying for a scholarship next year. However, it is primarily for California residents. Would I be considered an out-of-state applicant if I applied from Chicago or am I still considered a Calfornian resident (since my home is in Calfornia)?

You are still considered a California resident. I think your other questions have been answered.
