Does UCI CompSci accept soph transfers??

<p>Hey guys and girls,</p>

<p>I am a bit confused about whether or not I can transfer into sophomore level standing for a computer science major. On one page, they say you must have 60 transferable units. On another, they say you are eligible to transfer from second-semester freshman to senior level.</p>

<p>Also, when I was filing out my UC application earlier, I checked the box for sophomore transfer. After I did, a few of the UC's faded out so I could not select them. UCI was not one of these (Cal, LA, SD were).</p>

<p>I'm a bit confused and if anyone has any insight to the correct answer I'd greatly appreciate it.
I would rather transfer as a sophomore because there are fewer pre-reqs that I would have to do at my current school. </p>

<p>I would follow the information that UCI has up for CS transfers. Plus, those prereq classes will most likely be easier in CC than at the University level. I have a feeling 2nd semester frosh transfers are only for certain majors. Hopefully someone has some insight on that.</p>

<p>Im pretty sure that the budget cuts have caused all UC’s to no longer accept sophomore transfers.</p>

<p>Because they assume some UC students may want to transfer to a diff UC, you cannot apply as a soph transfer from Chapman since most or prob all units from private schools to UC may not transfer. You may have to start over at a CC and can apply through TAG. Contact the UCI admissions dept for a guaranteed answer</p>

<p>Most of my units are from CC. By the end of this semester I’ll have 44 semester credits, 16 being from Chapman</p>
