Does UCI really do this?

<p>I've heard a lot of rumors that UCI only accepts top-notch 5.0 GPA kids with sat scores of 2100+ and average 3.5 GPA kids with sat scores of 1900 and below...Apparently they rarely accept anyone who has 4.6-4.8 GPA with around 2000-2100 sat scores. Is this true?</p>

<p>first and foremost, you cannot get a GPA of 5.0 using the UC calculator. They cap the number of honors/AP classes at 8. So the max you can get is 4.33 or something like that. And I have never ever heard of this selection criteria - does not make any sense</p>

<p>Paintbucketgreen, all of the UCs publish detailed profiles of their applicant pool and admitted freshman class. Go to the UC admissions website and look for the information by school.</p>
