Hi, everyone. I am currently in first semester at my local community college. I plan on transferring to either UCI or UC Davis as a civil engineering major. I know that UC Davis discourages engineering majors to follow IGETC, but I'm not entirely sure about what UCI's requirements are. I really want to transfer out in two years, and I will have no chance of doing that if I am required to complete IGETC on top of all the engineering major requirements. Does anyone know if UCI requires IGETC for engineering majors? Also, does anyone know if you need IGETC in order to sign a TAG for these schools as an engineering major?

i only took 2 GEs, polisci and anthro, and planning to take a history next spring, and got approved to UCI’s TAG. they know you cant finish both igetc and major requirements in 2yrs as an engineering major.

Engineering majors do not require IGETC and IGETC is not required for TAG with Davis or Irvine.
