Does UD take legacy status into consideration?

My husband and I both graduated from UD. We currently live out of state, and our daughter has been showing interest in UD. I think her stats are a little low. She is a junior with a unweighted 3.4 gpa. She has taken four AP courses and many honors classes. She is very involved in varsity sports and school activites. She just took the SAT for the first time and scored a 1210. She hopes to raise her scores next time.

What kind of effect does double legacy status have on an applicant's chances, if any?

Thanks!

Don't know about the legacy thing, but if she has a good junior year, I'd bet she's a good prospect. Especially being that she was hatched from a Blue Hen n rooster. Sure can't hurt, altho I suspect most publics don't lend this much value unless you've been substantial and faithful donors. ;) Good luck. Where in PA?

UD Legacy Program

The UD Legacy Program is designed to facilitate opportunities for legacies to learn about the latest news and opportunities at UD during the college search process. You are a legacy if one or both of your parents graduated from the University of Delaware.

The University of Delaware Alumni Association participates in programs sponsored by the Admissions Office. The Admissions Office website has a complete schedule of open houses and programs that legacies are encouraged to attend. Representatives from the Alumni Association participate in Delaware Discovery Days in July and Delaware Decision Days in April. Visit us at these programs to speak with alumni and receive a special gift just for legacies.

Being a legacy is one in many factors that determine admission eligability. Academic credentials will always be the most important factor in the application process. Merit scholarships are determined by the application for admission. Additional scholarships are available to current students with preference given to legacies.
