I've been told that they didn't. So, I'm just curious to know if anyone knows if they do. And it you were at an out of state cc and transferred successfully then what was your stats? (GPA, College, AA/AS Major, Major at UF)

I’m looking at transfering to UF and I went to a CC in Texas… I called Admissions multiple times by now and I didn’t hear a single time that it wouldn’t be possible… Who told you it wasn’t possible?

All they told me was, that I need an Associates of Arts degree, since they won’ accept Associates of Science degrees (Although in Texas Associates of Science degrees are transfer degrees, not vocational degrees).

You just have to have all the pre-professional classes done the college you want to transfer to requires and of course at least 60 credits and from a CC I think you need to have an Associates Degree finished.

UF accepts OOS transfers. Florida public community college graduates who have completed a university-parallel program and an Associate of Arts degree will receive priority consideration for admission to on-campus programs. However, I’ve don’t think that causes too many issues for OOS students.

UF doesn’t accept A.S degrees? It likely doesn’t matter, since UF’s other requirement for Junior/Senior level transfers is completing 60 semester hours of transferable academic coursework… If you got an A.S., you likely have met that requirement.

This link will describe each major in the college of liberal arts (CLAS), and what minimum GPA is recommended to be competitive (the “Learn More” link in each description).

Thank you for the reply. I’m interested in Zoology :)

I’m from TX too! Which cc did you attend? And what did you study?

Oh my HS counselor told me that you couldn’t. I don’t think she understood my question when I asked.

@Test90 (Apologies, I’m new at college confidential) I am from TX too. And I was planning to go to San Antonio College (Alamo Colleges). Which CC did you attend? And what did you study?

@Gator88NE (Apologies I’m new at college confidential) Thank you for replying. I’m interested in Zoology, so I should be looking in the Biology tier, correct?

Yep, it’s in CLAS, under Biology. UF has a fairly strong Zoology program.

I went to the South Plains College (Close to Lubbock) I had some neighbors from San Antonio though
I was studying Computer Science at the College, but graduated with an Associates of Arts Degree in General Studies, since admissions at UF told me they would likely not consider the AS degree, but who knows, rather safe than sorry
I’ll be applying for Computer Engineering for Fall 2015, once my greencard comes in the mail \o/
