I'm interested in creative writing. Does UF offer a good program. Here is a link to a page on the UF website I found that I think is for creative writing: Department of English | Graduate Programs - MFA in Fiction & Poetry

Does anybody know if it is any good or has a good reputation?

This post discussed “Rugg’s Recommendations” on creative writing schools.

3 things…

Rugg’s Recommendations are not to be taken as gospel truth.

UF isn’t listed in undergraduate schools for creative writing.

UF IS listed in graduate school for creative writing.

My opinion? You don’t have a top notch grad school in a subject area without the undergrad program having some positive qualities.

I would feel comfortable with UF for creative writing. (But I would also check FSU which has good credentials as well.)

Agree with Joe: [The English Department at Florida State University - Creative Writing](http://www.english.fsu.edu/crw/)

FSU, by all accounts, has a really great creative writing department.

Just as an aside, I believe that one of the FSU professors was chosen to pick up the mantle and write the 3rd of the Godfather books. (After Mario Puzo passed away.)

That gives you an idea of the quality of creative writing professors at FSU.

But, with that being said, I think UF would provide you a quality undergraduate creative writing education.
