Hi, does anyone know if UF superscores ACT's? Is it VERY difficult for an out of stater (New England) to be admittted? My D has a 30 ACT superscored (29 single sitting) and just took it again. Her superscore may go up but I doubt her composite on the most recent one will be above 30 as she said that the science section was brutal. Thanks

Yes, they superscore. On the SAT they even superscore sections.
Good luck to your D! UF is very competitive in-state and OOS is much worse.

I know they superscore the SAT but I don’t believe they superscore the ACT. I know they didn’t last year when my son applied. Here is what they have on their website:

“All applicants must submit the SAT or the ACT With Writing test. While UF cannot mix scores from old and new tests, the university will accept the highest subscores from the new SAT if you took the new test multiple times. The university cannot mix or combine any ACT subscores.”

Can’t subscore ACT but SAT can

UF absolutely does NOT superscore the ACT!

Attended an info session this summer. They said they superscore the SAT but NOT the ACT. I specifically asked the presenter why they do not superscore the ACT and she said that “the ACT has too many sections and the computer is not able to take different sections from different tests on the ACT.” Her answer made absolutely no sense and so I took it to mean that she doesn’t really know why they don’t superscore the ACT.
