Does Umass Amherst have a good CS program?

<p>How good is the computer science program at Umass Amherst? Does anyone on here know from personal experience?</p>

<p>I actually heard from a friend (I attend UMass) that the Comp Sci program is ranked close by Harvard. I believe it’s a pretty strong program. I’m not entirely sure though, and of course this is just word of mouth, though I do trust that the guy I was talking to wasn’t just making it up. </p>

<p>I know a couple of friends in the CS program (sorry no statistics to provide you as well!) The comp sci program here is very very good as the previous poster said. Some of the graduates I know went on to work for Microsoft, Amazon, Vistaprint, you name it. Here is the comp sci website if you haven’t checked it out already.
