i am planning for computerE but i am a bit worried cause it is not highly ranked in CE as chemal engineering is it good?

Even if you accept rankings as legitimate, this post is just silly. That’s like asking if Harvard is bad for chemistry because it is so good at physics. Why would the excellence of ChemE indict the quality of CompE?

that is not what the post says am just asking if UMN has a good computer Engineering department!?

^
The answer to that question obviously depends on how you define “good”. This page has some good information: [About ECE : Electrical and Computer Engineering : College of Science and Engineering : University of Minnesota, Twin Cities](http://www.ece.umn.edu/aboutECE/index.htm). If you are interested in CS as well, see [About Us](Home). You can see some of the companies who recruited at the most recent UMN College of Science & Engineering Career Fair here: [Science and Engineering Career Fair draws more than 100 employers : College of Science & Engineering : University of Minnesota, Twin Cities](http://cse.umn.edu/admin/comm/features/2011_01_19_career-fair.php)

Does that help?
