I have the 2010 Edition of Princeton Review-Cracking the ACT and The Real ACT Prep Guide 2nd Edition (2008). Those books are a few years old, and I really want to start study hardcore for the ACT. I want to study with a book that would benefit me the most. Some people said that you should update the prep books because somethings change.

Does it really matter if i used the books i have now or should i buy the current editions of books? And what current books are great for studying?

Dont think it matters, you just want to be able to get the hardest test possible, because the last ACT was two magnitudes tougher than any princeton review or red book practice test I ever took.

Don’t think it matters. Do the free practices online and see if your library has some copies to review. The name of the game as you know is practice. After having helped both my kids study for the act I can see a Pythagorean math problem immediately. We used all different editions and it really comes down to timing and problem type recognition. College board will send you a question daily via email if you want test question practice. My kids both believe the red book best mirrored test questions and Barron’s was the least like actually test questions for what it is worth.
