Does USC count the SAT writing score?

Sorry I am posting so much in the USC forum but I am really interested.

I have heard writing is easy to improve and that USC superscores so I was thinking about taking the SAT in october specifically focusing on writing to boost my superscore... but does USC count writing?

Also do you guys have advice to boost my single sitting 760cr 690m 740w? I would try to improve math but i really suck at it so it probably cant improve much more. So how can i raise this?

From the USC website- Admission Standards-
[Freshman Standards - USC Undergraduate Admission](http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/apply/fresh_standards.html)

Yes, USC superscores.

Since you said you can’t improve much more on your math score, your only option is to increase your CR or W. If you didn’t get a 12 on the essay, read as many perfect essays as you can to try to get that top score.

From your other post- one of the best ways to improve your chances is to submit a great application. Check your spelling; use appropriate caps and grammar. Show your passion, leadership skills, and energy. Perfect the essays. Don’t be flippant- exhibit maturity.

Good luck!

“USC requires either SAT or ACT scores with the optional Writing test) from:”
i thought that meant that the writing test was required if you take the ACT.

Well, anyways, I will do my best on the SAT in oct, try to ace the app, and i will let you guys know if i get accepted to help out future applicants

From this statement on their Admissions Standards page-

That is saying USC does look at CR, M, and W.

One more comment about your other thread- unless you are accepted in Jan/Feb as a candidate for one of the big scholarships, USC Admissions WILL look at your first semester senior grades and that could make the difference.

Good luck to you- I’ll be watching to see if you get in.

I will not be a candidate for scholarships haah, but I will strive for the 4.0 to put me over the top… How much will subject tests help because i will have a lot on my plate with bball, cross country, SAT prep, apps, maintaining good grades and then prepping for subject tests ya know?

How do you know if your hs is regionally accredited? I’m pretty sure mine is cuz its a big public in houston but i need to make sure

All you need to do is ask a counselor or principal. They should tell you.
