Does USC disregard the writing section on the SAT?

<p>I just got my SAT score and I'm really happy about it, but as I was going through the forums, I noticed that apparently some schools disregard the writing section and focus mainly on the critical reading and math sections on the SAT. I was wondering if USC does take a look at the writing section because it is my best section on this test and it made up for my lower than expected math score. Without the writing section, I still got over 1400 with just CR and math but I really did well on the writing section this time and I want to know if USC regards the writing section. Thanks!</p>

What is USC’s policy on the “new” SAT?
Beginning with the fall 2006 admission cycle, USC will require a standardized writing exam from all applicants. This requirement can be met through either the new SAT or the ACT with its optional writing section. The results of these new exams will be considered along with all the other components of a student’s application. While we won’t read every applicant’s actual SAT writing sample, we may request it in individual cases where we feel it will help us better review those applicants…Also please note that USC does not require students to submit results from SAT Subject tests. USC will continue to consider each applicant’s best SAT sub-scores, even if from different sittings…

<p>Thanks for the clarification! By the way, since USC doesn’t use Score Choice, if I submitted certain SAT II’s and omitted others, would USC still be able to see the omitted scores?</p>
