My son’s HS college counselor strongly discouraged him from applying to some schools he was interested in because they were deemed to be out of his reach. Ultimately he was accepted at every school he applied to (with merit scholarships.) He was happy with his choices, but has always wondered what would have happened if he had taken a chance on some of those supposedly “out of his reach” schools. I agree that the OP should not count on USC and should have a range of options available, but he also should not wonder in years to come what might have been.
Thank you all for replying and giving me insight on what I should do. I asked the admissions staff what I should do (they haven’t responded, yet), but I have a major in mind when applying that will give me the best shot.
Lol I am worried that if I get in through the Thornton program and then I don’t get a scholarship… I don’t think that’s gonna be my first major anymore lol… especially if I want a scholarship.
You are asking the admissions department what to apply to in order to get the best scholarship? I’m afraid you just aren’t understanding it. Good luck.
