does usc waitlist?

just wondering.

i think its called spring admit

Lori1122: Yea, we thought that too....you may want to check out Rainmama's thread on Cinema thread...she spoke with them yesterday? (or day before, can't keep track with the time cange)

Anyway, it would be like a waitlist if there was a chance you would be admitted for fall; according to her phone call, with Spring admit, though, there is a slim to none chance of that happening...No, I don't think I would prefer a waitlist, but for those of us who have to ship our kids across the country w/o family in the area, a January admit just does not sit that well........Alot of the bonding and acclimation comfort will be lost unless you enter knowing alot of people there....
It's got to be easier for the Califonia Spring admits; for us, however, although we were absolutely thrilled that our daughter was admitted, we are thinking that we will have to pass.......

interesting.. nono i mean like. a normal waitlist like georgetown or others do. i ask because someone told me they got waitlisted.. which isn't spring admit. i know what that is. weird.

protege: that is the first we heard of a waitlist, but it's possible I guess.....

They probably said waitlist and were a spring admit. Or maybe they were confused with what the letter said.

hmmm... interesting.. i have a feeling it was a rejection but maybe embarassed to say ..? i don't know. who knows. doesn't really matter i guess. thanks for the info guys.

nickel: you hear yet?

I haven't heard yet. -_- At all.

same here.. my friends received rejections by e-mail today.. not me though =/

protege - USC does spring admit instead of waitlist, but it's a binding commitment on USC's part.

rodney - I completely agree that spring works better for local kids, because they could take part in a lot of the social and bonding activities that happen in the fall. My biggest hesitation is sending S off to a new state where he knows nobody, when he might get stuck in some off-campus apartment with a senior roommate, and everyone else is already in full social swing.

By e-mail?! Why didn't they just do this before... -_- But I haven't gotten an e-mail at all from USC. =/

I havnt heard back yet and recieved any emails yet. But i guess i'll be getting one soon

Nickel - the email is just for international students

Probably. I guess I'll just check the mailbox once I get home from school.

how would they have received e-mails? USC specifically says they only notify by postal mail...

They also say we will know by April 1.

Equally dependable statements, apparently.
