Does UT Austin require a secondary school report?

I know online it says that it requires an official transcript with rank and all that but does this mean I also have to include a ssr? Also, if I dont make it into plan II, can I still get accepted into UT Austin?

No SSR is required, but if it’s helpful, ask your GC to submit it.

Yes, if you aren’t accepted into Plan II, you can be admitted to your other choice or “undeclared.”

Good luck!

I thought a Secondary School Report was the same as a High School Transcript. What is a Secondary School Report?

It’s often referred to as the GC’s recommendation, but it is a lot more than that.

See, e.g.,

SSRs are commonly used by private schools.

Loverain…are you in state and top 8%? If you are, you will more than likely receive an acceptance to UT long before Plan II cracks open your file. My D applied to UT a few days ago and already has her acceptance but just submitted the honors supplement and even though Plan II is on rolling admissions, she certainly is not anticipating on hearing from them until at least the holidays.

Hi, lover, I just wanted to share something I saw this morning–I couldn’t recall where this was located when I initially responded to your question!

If you attend a non-ranking Texas or OOS high school, UT will ask the school to provide information about curriculum, grading system, etc.

See [Types of Applicants | Freshmen | Be a Longhorn](http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/freshmen/after-you-apply/applicant-types/) and open the applicable section.

It’s my understanding a HS can furnish the info in any reasonable way–UT doesn’t have its own SSR form.

Ask your GC–usually, your SSR contains very helpful stuff beyond the required information, so I think it would be a plus to send it.

Good luck!
