Does UT Still Offer National Merit Scholarships?

I ask because I haven't recieved anything? Did anyone else recieve notification of scholarships?

I assume UT still offers 4K the first year for finalists and 3K for the next 3 years. My DS did not receive any official notification, but it shows up on his financial page. You may have to look under “My financial history” to see it. I am assuming that an official notification will come one of these days!

I looked and all it had was the financial aid package with loans and no national scholarhip. Maybe it is different because I was a national achievement scholar but historically scholarships were given out. I really hope they didn’t decide to just stop the scholarships.

I don’t know about National Achievement Scholars. It is possible that UT has not received your name yet from National Merit. My DS is in Engineering Honors and they asked about NM. He let them know that he was a finalist and the scholarship showed up soon after that. They might have let the scholarship department know about it. I would wait awhile longer. As you know, National Merit takes forever to do anything!

Oh maybe that is it. I haven’t sent in my response about engineering honors and it does have a space for that on the form, but it is not due until May 1.

My understanding is that the finalist award is to offer In-State Tuition rate for an out-of-state student. Same for University of Florida.

The days of the ‘full ride’ are over, if they ever existed at UT-A.

No that can not be true. If I get the award for national achievement it will amount to a full ride because it would be in addition to other scholarship awards.
