does uva take electives/gym/etc out when looking at grades??

im pretty sure that every school does

I have never heard of that…

at first i wondered why a college would bother to do that, but thinking back to high school, classes that did not meet enough times per week (like gym) were not included in my gpa…

I would agree with Nick Mc. I think the GPA on your transcript is what they look at. But I definitely could be wrong because schools like U Mich will recalculate your GPA.

Dean J has said that UVA doesn’t recalculate GPA. But that’s an interesting question.

UVA doesn’t re-calculate your GPA?

They look at your overall GPA, in that case? Including gym, and non-core subjects?

If that’s the case, then this is very surprising to me.

I sure hope that they don’t re-calculate. I have taken many IB electives that I would hope would be taken into consideration.
