Does UW post decisions online?

Hello. I applied to the University of Washington back in the fall and would like to know if the school posts admission decisions online, either on their MyUW page or any other webpages. I received an email today informing me that letters have been sent via mail, and began to wonder if I could somehow access the decision online. Thanks.

Hello PotatoMan!! I’m awaiting my decision too! I’m so excited!!! Unfortunately, UW doesn’t “post” it online…but some previously admitted students have said you can maybe find out if you got in with the "Unofficial Trancsipt Trick*.

Here’s how:

  1. Log into your myUW account.
  2. On the left-side panel, find and click on"Admissions".
3)Again, on the left-side, click on “After being admitted”
  3. Click “Unofficial Transcript”

IF you have been accepted, you’ll see it say something about your student ID and UW-Seattle premajor.

If you haven’t been accepted OR they haven’t posted it yet (the case for most of us) it will show some sort of error.

Lastly, if you applied for any other UW campuses or have taken UWHS courses or something like that, it may show that information. And your UW-Seattle info will be added later.

Mine currently shows UW-Bothell PreMajor because I’ve already been accepted there…now just waiting for the big one!!

Good luck!!

Oh! And could I get fries with that?? hehe

Mine also loads my uw bothell transcript when i click the link. does this mean i got in to Seattle and they just need to load the transcript?

breezy, for now all it means is that you got into UW - Bothell…I know, this waiting game sucks! I wish UW - Seattle would be more modern and just email us or something!

Seattle Times this morning reported that UW applications were down this year and the acceptance rate is 69% vs. 63% and 65% for the last two years. Good news and good luck to all who applied. You’ll hear soon.

I think that information is wrong. According to their website, they had 55% acceptance last year with 30,200 applicants. This year they have over 31,000 applicants.

http://seattletimes.com/html/localnews/2023115826_collegeenrollmentxml.html</a> . The report mainly refers to instate applicants who’ll find it easier to get in this year to due low high school graduates and a decreased percentage of applications. It also mentions that international applications had increased.

I stand corrected–thanks Rusty–I should have said WA applications are down and acceptance rates are up for instate students. Lots of anxious WA seniors awaiting the big news soon. D14 applied to UW reluctantly and only as a parent requirement. A lot can change in the life of a HS senior in four months and we wanted to be sure D had an option to say yes or no (if she’s accepted). And, as we expected, she’s way more open to considering UW now vs. at the application deadline on 12/1/13.

I read a similar article from a couple of years back that WA students found it tougher to get into uw because of budget cuts. This resulted in inflow of OOS and international students(due to the tuition). Looks like the tables have turned this year.

so will the decision be up on the 15th online?

does anyone know of any other tricks besides the transcript one?

Nope. The transcript trick is neat but I think we’ll get to know thru the “big envelope” itself. I’m so excited man.

Ahh good luck to everyone!

Some unofficial transcripts are out! Check the portal!

If you’re an international student, they email you your results too

@pepper29 did they email you?

Much to our surprise and delight, D received “The Big Envelope” yesterday.

@NinRash I am able to load unofficial transcript…my major is shown as Pre-engineering…there is also some other stuff written all over the page…but there is nothing written in front of “status”…Does that mean I got accepted or rejected???

Does this unofficial transcript trick work for everyone? I checked yesterday night. And all it showed on there was my student ID for UW-BOTHELL. So, I’m assuming that I got rejected. I haven’t received my letter. I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF I WAS ACCEPTED OR NOT. I hate the suspense.

Oh man i can’t load and have nothing in therw
