Does UW Use the Common App Prompts?

If I submit my application to UW through the Common App, is my Common App prompt essay sent to the school or just the supplemental essays?

The reason I’m asking is that my common app essay is very similar to their supplemental essay, and I’m wondering if I can tweak that or write a new essay from scratch.

Go to the Common Ap essay section and read what it says. As UW-Madison does not require the Common Ap. essay, you will should be given the option to “not include” when you submit.
