<p>does vanderbilt sends a lot of unsolicitated emails and booklets to people, including overseas? I live in Canada and the university even sends mail to me. Does it means that it is interested or is it common practice? </p>

<p>(Princeton didn't send me anything even though i specifically requested it)</p>

<p>It doesn’t mean anything. Why are people so naive about this? Why would college mailings be any different from any other type of mailing that you might receive from car dealerships and insurance companies and the like?</p>
