Ive read that absences on your high school transcript can possibly raise red flags to colleges. What might you consider an excessive amount of absences?

Im currently a valedictorian, but I must admit that I didnt mind taking days off from school when I felt too tired or a little sick, since it obviously did not affect my performance. Absences just dont seem to matter too much at my school, as long as you have below 9 each semester in order to exempt exams. Additionally, many of my teachers did not even bother to take attendance, which makes it look as if I skipped .

You're fine. Don't worry. I wouldn't bring it up unless you were questioned about it. I really don't think they care, particularly when many of your teachers aren't consistent about taking attendance, as long as you consistently did well.

Ive heard it does to some adcoms. My friend had a bunch of absences/tardies that showed up on her transcript because she skipped some classes /came in late in order to get more time to study for tests and stuff, yet she was ranked 1-10. She got rejected from UNC and UVA cause of this
