Does Voulenteering really matter?

I want to go to USC,UCLA, or UCSB does voulenteering really matter to get in to these colleges?

if so how many hours is good?

and how much does it count for college?

If they don’t say that you have to do volunteering or give any signs of encouraging it, it doesn’t matter.

The priority is that you’re doing these activities for the good it does others. There are plenty of volunteering activities that could match up with your interests. Do it for those other reasons, not for a college acceptance.

But doing doesn’t hurt you; it can only help.

At least 50 hours. No fewer. 50 is not even good anymore…

yup uif you volunteer in the same place and show dedication to that place

I know that volunteering is good; good for you and the people you help. It also great for college app, but do colleges blatantly ask you what did you do to volunteer? If not, if you put it your activities, why do people mention the number of hours they did? Do people really write 200+ hours of community service?

It helps with local scholarships around here. Just saying. :)

Volunteering doesn’t help as much as some people think it does for college admissions; other extracurriculars probably look just as good. But it really DOES help in getting scholarships and such, and even at the relatively cheap UCs you don’t want to pay more than you have to.
