They say you can send in SAT I + SAT IIs OR the ACT w/ writing, but last year, they accepted 29% of ACT only applicants(http://www.wellesley.edu/Admission/admission/statistics.html), which is less than their overall acceptance rate. Fluke?

Probably. 29% isn't much lower than their overall acceptance rate, which is like 34, 35%, something like that. Personally, I do believe that it is a slight unconscious advantage to having, say, a 750 average across the SAT I and two or three SAT II's vs. having a single equivalent ACT score, but that's just me--I've never heard that even hinted at by any college officials. If you have a good ACT score, feel free to submit that without worrying that it will affect your chances. If you are very worried about it, you could always also submit SAT II scores to totally put you on even-footing with the SAT only applicants.

Since there's no breakdown of acceptance by score-range in the ACT category, you're looking at the statistics for students with 32s in the same space as students with 20s. It's hard to tell exactly how acceptances fall within the range of ACT scores, but I would imagine that it's similar to the percentages seen in the comparable SAT categories.

If you're really concerned, find a way to take the SAT, but the 29% acceptance rate shouldn't be taken as a strike against the ACT.
