Hiya! I've been browsing William College's website for the past few hours and I really liike the environment there! The only problem is, I'm quite confused on the programs D: I searched the Williams Medical school website, but it did not say anything about having a M.D. program :[ Do you know how Williams students can graduate as Doctors? Would they have to transfer?
I know I am unlikely to be accepted, but I still would like to try, as the campus is beautiful and the environment, friendly! Thank you very much for reading!

Williams College doesn’t have a medical school…

It’s a liberal arts college, and, as far as I know, it does not offer any sort of medical or pre-med training. I’m not sure what website you were on. Maybe you were looking at the “Williams medical prep schools” that exist in Chicago…

Williams College doesn’t have a medical school. It is an exclusively undergraduate institution.

I do believe that the pre-med track is available there, though. http://www.williams.edu/go/careers/downloads/prehealth/course_selection.pdf

You can go pre-med at williams, but there isn’t a pre-med major like there is at some colleges,

It is an exclusively undergraduate institution.

Almost…

I’m a pre-med student at Williams and we have a great reputation of sending grads to the best medical programs in the country. So Williams (and other top LAC’s) are great places to be if that’s what you want to do.

It’s hard to believe, but at one time Williams actually did issue medical degrees:
Bowdoin opened a “Medical School of Maine” in the early 19th Century; it lasted until 1920.

Corbett, that’s hilarious, thanks for that piece of trivia.

FYI, williams does have some grad programs:

[GAH - program](http://www.williams.edu/gradart/sub/?sub=program)

http://cde.williams.edu/

In the U.S., an undergraduate B.A. or B.S. degree is required to apply to and attend medical school (a doctoral level degree). This is true whether attending a university’s undergraduate college or a free-standing LAC. Williams has an outstanding record for medical school acceptance (at the very top) and would be a great choice with few peers. The only way to be simultaneously accepted to undergraduate and medical school would be a 6 year program such as that at Northwestern or Brown.
