I’ve heard about the program that MIT ran in the past called WISE (Weekend Immersion in Science & Engineering), but I couldn’t find any new information about it. Does anyone have any knowledge about this program?
I did it this fall, it was amazing! They had us take a survey for next year (Class of 2021), so I assume it’s still running. I didn’t apply until August, so the info probably isn’t up yet. Admissions is probably too busy with newly committed students to update info for the program. I would wait until this summer to look for info.
@musicalmatrices My son received an email from MIT about ten days ago inviting him to apply to WISE. We were on the fence because he really likes MIT but the program seemed geared towards STEM and he’s interested in HASS. After some research it seems they would place him with HASS students, professors etc for the weekend. Deadline is today (7/17). I am sure you can find the app online. They are only taking 45 kids for each of the two weekends and I have read that they send out about 2K invitations. I don’t know if that is true (about the # of invitations) but the 45 students per weekend was included in their email.
@paveyourpath Thank you very much! I was able to fill out and submit the application already, but I appreciate the additional information. I had no idea that there were invitations for the program…
