does wm accept jan sat scores???

does wm accept january sat scores

like i know 27 people have viewed this, i applied ed with a 1450 out of state and was told i was deferred because my sat scores werent high enough, great that i got my deferrel letter the afternoon of the dec sat's so jan is really my only shot, think wm will look at new scores if i take them in jan?

are you serious? 1450 is not high enough?!!!!!!

well I viewed it and I didn't answer because I don't know the answer to your question.

I want to know who told you that 1450 isn't high enough, because I would be a lot of money that the 1450 is not the reason you got deferred.

Your best bet would be to read through the admissions stuff, and if you can't find the answer, call and ask. Maybe ask about your application if you can, what you can do to make it better.

Are you out of state?

Actually, the SAT scores for people out of state need to be much higher than the average (the average includes the 65% of in-state people they must accept). It's much more competitive for people applying out of state.

According to collegeboard.com, the deadline for SAT scores is March 01 for regular decision at William & Mary. http://apps.collegeboard.com/search/CollegeDetail.jsp?collegeId=3090&profileId=5

That means the January 27 test is the last one you can take.

i flat out called the admissions office and asked why i was deferred, and spoke to an admission officer they said my sat scores were not high enough for out of state, i have a 1450, but im from PA and wm gets a large bulk of their out of state apps from PA so maybe 1450 is high enough for another state, but not PA. I have all aps and honors, all a's, i have leadership posisitons in service and national honors society, so i asked them if it was my ec's or my essays etc and quote, "Your sat scores weren't high enough to be admitted early decision out of state" sucks i know, so i guess ill take them in jan anyway and send them if they go up.

i guess that might make sense if they had a couple other applicants a lot like you with higher SATs... I would encourage you to send something else along with your midyear grades, even if it's just a personal letter that says that WM is still your first choice.

best of luck. I think you have a solid shot at the RD round.
