Does working for my parents count as work experience?

<p>Does working for my parents count as work experience? I often go with my mom to her alterations shop, and I help her sew/mend clothes, man the counter, take care of customers, etc. I've done that a lot, so would it count as work experience, or would it not count since she's my mom?</p>

<p>You can go either way, imho, but it carries richer significance that it’s your mom’s business. </p>
