Hey CC transfers,

I am applying to Yale/Harvard as a sophomore transfer and was wondering if anybody knew whether Y/H keeps the applications/scores of its freshmen applicants after the application cycle is over. I had applied to Y/H last year as a HS senior (was rejected) and am curious to know if Y/H will compare this year's transfer application to the one from last year as a freshman applicant.

For a transfer who has applied already in a previous year, does anyone know for sure (has called the office before to confirm or found a print statement online verifying the info) whether Y/H keeps the testing records of the previous year's application and if they compare the current and previous year test records during the transfer admission process (for the purposes of making sure no scores were hidden in the current year test report or the like)?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I emailed the admission office of both these universities last month, and they both confirmed that not only do they still have your scores from you previous application, but your old application will also be reviewed along with your new one. not sure how i feel about that…

I’ve also emailed the offices and am waiting for a reply. It’s not hard to imagine the previous year’s materials being used to compare and measure growth, I suppose.

Has there been anyone else who contacted the admissions offices about this question? (I’m not trying to discount your input, smithsonian2011, but would like to see if others had gotten the same info as well)

D1 applied for transfer to H & Y after applying as a fr and had to send in all new information (application, scores, etc.). However that was 3 yrs ago.

For Y, who does not have score choice, there shouldn’t be any inconsistencies in test reports between years.
