does yale limit the number of SCEA acceptances fm 1 school?

As of now, I know of 2 other kids in my grade applying to yale SCEA (3, counting myself). One of them is a recruited athlete, ranked like 2nd in the state in track. I'm sure Yale will be comparing me against him in the EA pool (he's very very likely to get in and he's also a minority--as am i, but i'm asian). his grades are average, but like i said, the yale coaches are very interested in him. would i be better off applying RD?

No.

If multiple outstanding candidates apply from the same high school, Yale will extend multiple offers of admission.

Yale compares you to other people IN YOUR STATE, and not really your school. I observed this last year. wjb is right.

You should not worry too much about this athlete. If Yale does not want somebody, they will not take him/her, no matter what the coaches say. I know this for a fact.
(I do not know what happened to Bush tho. urgh)

^^Admissions officers will look at your application in the context of both your region and your high school.

In-school competition is a factor at the admissions table, but there are no set quotas. How many students a school will accept from a particular high school depends on the competition and the applicants in any given year. There is no way of knowing precisely how admissions committees make their decisions, but even if there are loose quotas from schools, they will almost certainly be overridden when multiple exceptional candidates present themselves.

I’m worried about this too because it seems like EVERYONE brilliant at my school is applying to Yale SCEA ^^

Haha ya I wouldnt worry too much about it. From what I have heard from nearly everyone I talk to, you are only compared to students in your state/region. So, ya you might be compared to the kids in your school, but you’ll also be compared to every other applicant from your region. Moral of the story, just dont worry bout it.
