I am clearly aware that Yale School of Drama has a top notch acting program but I was wondering if the undergrad theater program is great as well. My ultimate goal is to go to Yale School of Drama for my masters, but I was wondering if going to Yale for undergrad would increase my chances of getting into the MFA program. I don't have that much experience in acting but neither did Meryl Streep and she got in. Okay maybe I should not be comparing myself to Meryl since she is the best but you get the point. I really love acting and I definitely see myself doing it for the rest of my life so would you recommend me applying to yale for undergrad or should I receive my training else where and then apply to Yale School of Drama. As of right now I am looking at liberal arts colleges like Williams, Vassar, Wesleyan, Skidmore, Muhlenburg, Kenyon, and Northwestern even though its not a liberal arts colleges. As you can see I want to go to colleges without a BFA and only a BA program so I can get that special attention and I am also aware that all these schools are hard to get into.

Yale offers an undergraduate theater studies program: [Theater Studies < Yale University](Theater and Performance Studies < Yale University) which encompasses some acting, but is more of a general theater arts degree.

For more info on BA programs in acting, you should repost your query here: [Theater/Drama Majors - College Confidential](Theater/Drama Majors - College Confidential Forums)

FWIW: Graduating Yale with an undergraduate theater studies degree DOES NOT increase your chances to the Yale Drama School, which is a totally separate program.
