does your high school let you do this?

My high school has this super-cool option (called PLAN II) that lets you substitute required classes for classes that you're interested in, so long as the school board approves it. Because my high school only has 6 periods a day, I'm using it to take more AP classes (5 APs + physics) instead of taking health and PE classes.

Does anyone else's high school let you do something similar? I'm curious because when most people on CC list their classes they don't mention health, so maybe you guys substitute classes too.

no, my school doesnt allow that

no, I wish! I go to school in NYS, where all my required classes are required by the state, so if I don't take them I don't graduate.

um no. it'd be cool, but would never happen :)

I wish... If they did, I would've never taken PE, Health, and some weirder reqs. :(

Crayon-- what other reqs did you have?

Kind of...we have to take PE and life management (no idea what that is) but if you're an IB student, those requirements are waived.

that would be pretty cool

Yes.

I used preIB biology for my health
I'm using academic decathlon for speech, govt., and econ
I used band and track for my PE
I'm using TOK and World Topics (IB) for texas history credit.

I wouldn't have taken Alaska Studies and Lifetime Personal Fitness.

My school doesn't allow that, but I have 8 classes a year, and 32 classes is more than enough for me to fit everything in

no, I wish we could do that. I would've loved to substitute p.e. and health for more useful classes (I can only hear "don't do drugs" and "abstinence!" so much).

The only requirement that my school let me get out of was the 2-year Latin requirement so I could take AP Studio Art.
