Nope that’s why I’m rocking a 3.8 and the idiots have a 4.0

My school grades AP/IB classes out of 4.5

weighted so honors are worth more, and APs are worth the most

Yep. An A in a CP is a 4.0, in an Honors its a 4.6, and in AP its a 5.0.

honors and ap are weighted the same…out of 4.6.

APs are weighted, Honors aren’t

Yeah, a 100 in a regular class is a 4.0, 99 is a 3.9, 98 is a 3.8 etc

In Honors a 100 is a 4.3, 99, 4.21, a 98 is a 4.12, a 97 is a 4.03, 96 is a 3.94.

Ap is the same except 100 starts out as a 4.6.

APs aren’t offered until Senior year and I take all honors so needless to say my class rank is awful to due to our messed up weighting system.

Only AP is weighted at my school

Both AP and Honours are weighted the same. I think it’s out of 5.4

no weighting for D’s school…for anything…

Yea, I don’t think honors are weighted, which I think is a bit unfair, seeing that they are much more difficult in course load and difficulty than regular courses.

My high school weights honors and AP courses, giving both a 1 point boost if one gets a C or above.
I would be annoyed that honors and AP courses are treated the same, but usually the two aren’t both offered for a specific course and are at about the same difficulty, so it works out alright.

Honors is out of 5, AP/IB is out of 6

Yeah, honors are weighted at a .025 and AP/IB are weighted at a .05.

Honors aren’t usually weighted at my school. APs are out of 5 but only algebra 2 trig honors and anatomy & physiology honors are out of 5 also.

honors and AP are both 5.0 at my school :)

I mean, if honors aren’t weighted, then what incentive would that be? It would look just as good to take an easy regular course–
My previous school didn’t have that many weighted courses, & now that I’m in this other school, they offer tons of weighted courses so my ranking would be lower than it really should :(

A=12
A-=11
B+=10
…so on…
No weighted honors, AP weighted 1.25 (ie B+ 10x1.25=12)… but there are not too many APs, and i take a lot of honors/accerlated… so that is why I’m getting a 3.6 (3.75W) instead of a 4.0

No weighting at my school, APs and honors are all worth 4.
