For Example would it be easier for say a Prospective History to gain acceptance rather than say a prospective Mechanical engineer major?

your choice of major does have an effect on whether you get in or not because they only have a certain number of spaces in each major

Ok which college is the easiest to get into and which one is the hardest?

I’m guessing that the sciences, technical fields (engineering, architecture), pre-health, nursing majors will be the hardest to get into. Traditional liberal arts majors such as history, english etc… will be easier to get into.

Ok thank you.

Could you chance me as well.

3.3 GPA

another chance

in state

If your SAT is between 1160-1310 (Critical Reading + Math only) or your ACT is between 25-30, you should have a good chance of getting in. Also, class rank is important as 50% of students were in the top 10% of their high school class, 75% in the top 20% and 98% in the top half of their high school class.

I was denied admission with a 3.8 GPA 1260 on SAT
29 on ACT 4 AP classes. PLayed varsity sport 4 years have worked 3 years am a member of two of my school’s organizations I applied to school of education and was offered the Bridge Program. UGH! I have been accepted to LSU, AUBURN, USC, and Wofford but applied in different majors. So I say YES your major DOES effect WHETHER you get accepted. I am NOT in the top ten of my class. Big deal I’m not competing against all of them. Only a handful applied to Clemson. Most are going out of state.

iwantclemson, I’m sorry to hear about that. If you are really upset, I might consider appealing your decision. There is no reason really with these college acceptances. My friend had a 4.0 GPA and 2100 on the SAT and got rejected from Northeastern University. Colleges can be unpredictable with their decisions.

iwantclemson - my son’s stats are similar to yours (same GPA and APs, he had a lower SAT score but was in the top 10% of his class) and he was accepted – however, he got his second choice major (Communications) - his first choice was pre-business but he didn’t get it. He has to stay in Communications for a semester before changing it. Did you have a second choice major listed in your application? You may want to appeal the decision.
