<p>Our NJ public school reports class letter grades actually given. GPA is displayed only as weighted. Class rank is calculated on weighted GPA. School does not report actual class rank, only deciles, but also provides in the profile a histogram of GPAs which allows a much closer determination of class rank. Don’t know what colleges do with this info, but our school does send kids to top schools, so I would guess that many if not most top colleges are familiar with the grading system at our school.</p>

<p>I’m wondering–when a HS sends a college a transcript, are they sending a paper document or an electronic document? If, for instance, it’s some kind of database or spreadsheet file, it might be easier to do a recalc from the college’s end. Otherwise, I agree that we’re talking about a ton of data entry here. </p>
<p>Our school’s transcript is like dadx3’s. Individual courses show only letter grades, not numerical equivalents, and the overall GPA is shown in weighted form.</p>
