Does your nationality matter?

anonamous - as you can never know whether your nationality does count or not, be sure to include that in your application somehow (in case you are applying for the class of 2011). One never knows if something like that can't help.

hey, since a few swiss are here...i thought i'll ask a question that I had about ETH Zurich
1.) Is the medium of instruction German?
2.) I heard everyone who applies is admii ted but the actual screening begins during exams in the sophomore year where a large % drop out?
3.) Can Internationals apply?

I don't know about admittance... Therre are a lot of internationals there, however, so you most certainly can apply (actually, only internationals have to apply, if you did a Matura (Swiss gymnasium graduation exam) you are automatically admitted. About the lectures, they are in German and English, although the majority is in German.

A, and you might already know that, but... for further information, the website is ethz.ch, and if you want to view it in English, press the little "EN" button in the upper right-hand corner.

thanks Nora, my cousins live in Austria (some weird place called Kremp) and wanted to go there...so was enquiring.

kenyon, so Cornell accepts 50% of Raflesians!!!
Do they accept students from other schools atall?

[/quote]

In fact among the ivies, Cornell takes in the most number of Singaporeans, thus making it seemed like a "safety" school.

heheh the IVY schools are among the most politically crafted diplomats i have come to see.. there all acceptance belies a hidden quota or strategy and well that very well defies at majority of time the most popular belief of " U got merit , I got education , so lets join hands and things are gonna be fine"

Well.. of all intricacies in admission beyond the applicant quality the Ivies are one set of school who wud rule .. for sure... but as of due to their quality of education they are empowered with this privilege..
