They force students to do 60 hours. I heard that if you do it all in one year, you get a letter from the president or something like that.

The President of the United States? 60 hours in one year is sort of really easy.

also list if you guys are public or private.

public; 0

150 hours :S

More than 120 hours. Private. Community service is basically the focus of the school; from day one we’ve had it pounded into our heads that as part of the educated elite, it’s our responsibility to contribute to society.

10 hours for each year that you are at the school

Public school.
I don’t know how many hours you have to do if you don’t go IB, but for IB kids you have to do 150 hours of CAS. CAS = Creativity, Action, Service. Creativity = Art, Music, etc., Action = Sports usually, Service = Community and Service. You get your junior and senior year to complete these requirements, though.

About 35 hours in total. They expect you to finish 20 hours by sophomore year but don’t check it. That’s kind of ridiculous, forcing you to be “helpful” to the community. You should want to volunteer because you are interested in it.

My transcript says I have 75, but all I ever remember doing is bringing in a bag of apples…

^ lololololollllllllllllllll

^^■■■■■ nicee!

Yeah, mine requires 50 hours per year; 200 total.

0
10charrrr

Yeah, 180 by graduation. you also write a paper on it

40 hours, but you can get them cheaply if you know what you’re doing.

In FL, you’re required to have 75 hours to get Bright Futures so I’m pretty sure most schools require it so that everyone can try their best to qualify.

75 at least; public.

100 hours needed by graduation; for those doing IB 150 CAS hours.

Many people always go way over

none. my school is a real academic institution.

5 hours each year is the minimum for the Class of '10 (me) and earlier. Now, anyone below C/0 '10 needs 25 hours by their senior year. They can do it all in one year or break it out evenly.

I think I like mine better; if I had the new version, I’d forget and have to do all 25 hours my senior year.
