hey guys I was just wondering if your schools' give out A+s
Mine sometimes does I had a 109% in Spanish this semester and I only got an A :(. But the weird thing is that some teachers do give out A+s so it gets confusing.
I guess i need to start sucking up to my teachers more ... lol

^CC is the only place where people will say “…I only got an A.”

Anyway, we do give out A+'s in my school for grades over 98%. However they don’t show up on your report card and i’m not even sure they show up on your transcript, so all you have is a good sentimental feeling of achievement. But either way an A is an A whether it’s just the bare minimum or 100%+.

Yes.

A less intrusive “10char”

No, not on report cards.

nope. A= 95-100, A-= 90-94, the rest is normal…

90 - 92 = A-
93+ = A
no A+ for any grade

Yeah my school does give out an A+ if earned. I think a 98-100 is a A+ in my school. Only time I ever got it was in English last year!

90-92 = a-
93-95 = a
96-100 = a+

I have no minuses in my school.

A+ = 95 - 100
A = 90 - 94

an A is an A is an A. all pluses and minuses are excluded from our transcript. therefore it doesnt matter if you get an 89.5% or 100% its essentially the same grade.

89.5-92 A-
93-99 A
99 or above A+

but it doesn’t say on the transcript, it just says A no signs attach, ,
but it does say on the report cards, which are only made to make your parents mad/happy

Nope. Our School is typical 90-100% is A. no minus or plus.

89.5-92.4 = a-
92.5-96.4 = a
96.5-100 = a+

No…our As don’t have +'s, but everything else does.

A+ for over 98%, and it gets extra weight

That’s how my school works as well. A+s go into your GPA as 4.4s, As as 4s, A-s as 3.7s, etc. Therefore, it is possible to have above a 4 UW GPA. But my school is quite rigorous, so generally only the most grade-obsessive students (the ones who study for hours for those last 3-4 points on every single quiz) will have a GPA above a 4.

My school doesn’t do pluses and minuses. Just straight grades. Some teachers will but A+ or B- on an essay or a report or a test or something, but it has no actual meaning.

yes i got 3 A+s

For us, your 90 and 100 are one and the same. Better yet, your 90 and 100 are weighted the same whether you take IB Math SL or Algebra I.

Not really, I can get over 100% in a subject quite easily if I devote some considerable time into at my school. Not that I’m exceptionally gift, but my school is mostly full of kids who can’t speak English (it’s just the way most American schools work in Korea) so the teachers try and raise kid’s grades with extra credit or “open book” tests.
So anything from a 93 to a 100+ is seen as an A and on our report, it caps out at 100. But screw the letters, it’s the numbers that count. ^^

But our GPA system is a little strange, anything under a 97-8% is a 3.9 and etc. I’m not sure if this is the norm in most schools…
